Someone in this conversation uses Fermo

Last updated: 19 October 2026

In short

  • Fermo is an AI notes assistant. The person who uses it asked for your agreement before it started.
  • No audio is recorded. Fermo’s servers keep nothing about you.
  • You can say no, before or during the conversation. Then the person turns Fermo off.

What Fermo is

Fermo is a web app. It listens to a conversation, writes it down and suggests talking points to the person who uses it. Voidraft LLC makes Fermo.

You were asked first

Fermo does not listen until its user starts a session and confirms that each person agreed. Before that, the user reads a notice to you or pastes it in the chat. If you did not hear or see the notice, ask them about it.

What Fermo receives

This is what the notice says:

  • To work, the call audio, with your voice, goes to a transcription service. The service sends back text. No audio is recorded.
  • The transcript stays on the user’s device, and in the user’s Google Drive if they turn on backup.
  • Your questions, passages from the user’s notes and files, and the text and a picture of the part of the user’s screen that they share with Fermo go to an AI service: OpenAI, with Anthropic as a backup.
  • If the user added their own files to Fermo, your questions also go to Cloudflare’s AI service, to find passages in those files. It keeps no copy.
  • The AI services may keep messages for up to 30 days for abuse checks, and longer if a message is flagged.
  • If the user turns on follow-up drafts: after the call, the transcript goes to the AI service once more, to draft a thank-you note and action items.

What Fermo does not keep

  • Fermo’s servers keep nothing about you: no audio, no transcript and no name.
  • Your name stays only on the user’s device, and only if they typed it in the list of people who agreed.
  • Fermo does not use what you say to train AI models.
  • Fermo does not keep a voiceprint of you.

How to say no

  • Tell the person who uses Fermo, before or during the conversation. They turn Fermo off, and it stops listening.
  • You can change your mind later. Ask them to stop Fermo, and to delete the transcript from their device and from their Google Drive.
  • We cannot see or delete the transcript for you. It is on the user’s device, not on Fermo’s servers.
